Tsubai Castle Ruins
Located on the ridgeline of the Yata Hills in the eastern part of Heguri, this medieval castle in the mountains spans 150 meters east-west and 300 meters north-south.
It has the characteristics of a renkaku-jikiyamajiro (a type of castle with continuous baileys on a ridge).
Numerous baileys, moats, and earthen ramparts indicative of castle fortifications remain, making it a valuable resource of history.
Although historical records are scarce and there are various theories about the history of the castle and its lord, it is said that Shima Sakon, who counseled Ishida Mitsunari and played an active role as a strategist, also used this castle as his residence.
