Marumigaya, a nationally designated natural monument (designated on March 20, 1995) is a giant tree with large round seeds.
It is on the east side of the main hall of Toshoji Temple.
Marumigaya is a giant tree, the trunk of which is divided and rises north and south. It is a variety of Japanese nutmeg tree that has spherical seeds with a diameter of about 2.2 cm.
Although the seeds of Japanese nutmeg trees are often rounded, round seeds like this are extremely rare.
