Not only a carpet of poppies, but also lots of fun events taking place during the festival!

This year, on the 28th (Sat) and 29th (Sun) of May, a free flower picking event will be held.

Anyone with scissors can pick flowers to take home.

＜Making traditional Japanese fabric poppies (“chirimen”)＞

Date: Saturday, May 7 – Sunday, May 8,11:00am – 2:00pm

Charge: 300 yen per session

Make your own pretty poppy flowers using traditional Japanese fabric (chirimen)

＜Swimming in the sky, with carp streamers – “Koinobori”＞

Date: Saturday, April 23 – Sunday, May 15

Venue: Poppy Garden

Elegant “Koinobori” carp streamers (carp shaped windsocks) come to the Poppy Garden to celebrate Children’s Day!

＜Children’s Fair!＞

Date: Saturday, April 16 – Sunday, April 17, 10:30 – 15:30 (last admission at 15:15). (Cancelled in the event of rain)

Venue: Herba (the log house next to ‘Restaurant Los Marines bus stop’)

Admission: 200 yen

Enjoy a fair with shooting games and Omikuji ring toss!

＜Giant cardboard maze!＞

Date: Friday, April 29 – Thursday, May 5, 10:30am – 3:30pm (last admission at 3:15pm)

Venue: Herba

Admission: 100 yen per visit

Age: From 3 years old to primary school students (pre-school children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).

Admission: free of charge

Age: Suitable for children up to primary school age (pre-school children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).

Have fun using a woodworking kit to make a small container to celebrate your visit to the park!

＜Kurihama Flower Town Fair: Spring＞

The Poppy Festival will end with the annual free flower picking event.
Flower picking sets (scissors, gloves, newspapers, etc.) will be on sale for 300 yen!
You can also bring your own flower-picking tools.
