December 13: A Classical Evening to Remember

Violin: Tatsunori Watanabe

A Yokosuka native and graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts, Watanabe has collaborated with renowned artists and iconic groups such as Southern All Stars, SMAP, Arashi, and X Japan. His appearances span major events, including the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Opening Ceremony, NHK’s Kohaku Uta Gassen, and film scores like Honeybees and Distant Thunder (蜜蜂と遠雷).


Flute: Genta Usui

Born in Miura, Usui began playing the flute at age 12 and graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, where he also completed the university’s Orchestra Academy program. He has participated in prestigious projects such as the Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Opera Project XIX and the Matsumoto Festival in 2023. From January to March 2024, he served as a contracted member of the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently, he performs actively as a freelance musician.


Piano: Soichiro Takanashi

Born in Miura, Takanashi began playing the piano at the age of 5 and later graduated from Toho Gakuen Graduate School with a master’s degree. He has won numerous awards since his childhood, including first place in the 12th Toho Piano Competition. Takanashi is highly regarded for his versatility in solo performances, chamber music, and accompaniment, showcasing his dedication to a wide range of musical expressions.

Piano: RINA

RINA, a highly accomplished jazz pianist, studied under Makoto Ozone and earned a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music. She achieved second place in the 2018 International Jazz Piano Competition and received the Best Composition Award. RINA has also performed on CBS, delivering a memorable performance for Michelle Obama.

An artist with a global presence, she has released two albums, RINA and Transparent Blue, showcasing her talent as both a performer and composer. Upcoming performances include “RINA Plays Yokosuka Street Piano + New Year Mini Live” on January 4, 2025, at Yokosuka COASKA, and “RINA Plays Rhapsody in Blue + Hammond” on January 11, 2025, at Yokosuka Bayside Pocket.


Bass: Yosuke Inoue

A graduate of Osaka College of Music, Yosuke Inoue began his career in 1991 in New York, performing alongside legendary jazz musicians such as Hank Jones and Don Friedman. During his time in the U.S., he toured extensively across Europe, performed in prestigious jazz venues, and participated in numerous recordings.

In 2004, Inoue returned to Japan, where he continues to maintain a prolific career. In 2022, he toured with the Spirit of Chick Corea Band, collaborating with renowned drummer Steve Gadd. From 2007 to 2009, he was ranked first in Swing Journal’s popularity polls for three consecutive years.

Currently, Inoue performs with his own group and regularly collaborates with acclaimed Japanese artists such as Satoru Shionoya, Junko Onishi, and Kazumi Watanabe. In addition to jazz, he has worked with notable pop artists including Ayaka, Superfly, May J, and JUJU, showcasing his versatility and international appeal.
