"Thibaudier Residence". The Thibaudier Residence was the official residence for Jules César Claude Thibaudier, the assistant superintendent of the Yokosuka Arsenal. It was constructed around 1869 and was the oldest western building in Honshu until it was disassembled in 2003. The building's appearance from the period is recreated using timber-framed bricks for the walls and trusses for the flat roof. Visitors can see the actual timber-framed brick walls and trusses, which were transferred from the Thibodier residence.
