Enjoy handmade soba noodles, surrounded by the greenery of Jindaiji Temple at MIYAMA-CHAYA

A soba noodle restaurant with open-air seating, enveloped by the nature of Jindaiji Temple

Located on the west side of Jinja Daio-do Hall, MIYAMA-CHAYA is on high ground at the top of stairs, which were used for the filming of a Japanese drama, “Gegege no Nyobo.”
Seating arrangements are the outside seating enveloped by the greenery and the zashiki style seating to relax comfortably.

Please enjoy soba noodles in a cozy space next to Jindaiji Temple, surrounded by the lush greenery in summer and the crimson foliage in autumn.
At a short distance from Jindai Botanical Gardens and a dog run, the restaurant serves meals in a comfortable atmosphere where even a person with a pet can relax and enjoy meals.
Please drop by when you take a walk around Jindaiji Temple.

MIYAMA-CHAYA: recommended soba menu

○ Tenzaru soba 1300 yen

○ Mori soba 650 yen

Soba noodles served at MIYAMA-CHAYA are “Nihachi soba” made with domestic buckwheat flour.
With a smaller amount of chaff, its soba noodles feature whiteness and excellent throat comfort.
A rather sweet “dipping source” of the Kanto style goes exceedingly with hot buckwheat water, and you can take a last swig of it.
“Tenzaru soba” is a set menu of six kids of vegetable tempura (prawn, eggplant, lotus root, mizuna greens, enoki mushroom, and green pepper) and soba noodles.

This popular menu uses vegetables purchased from farmers in Chofu, and its freshly fried crispness is well received by customers.
“Sansai soba” is also recommended as hot soba noodles.
With many regular customers, it sometimes happens that soba noodles menus are sold out by noon.

Feeling a comfortable air around Jindaiji Temple at MIYAMA-CHAYA

【A message to customers from MIYAMA-CHAYA】

MIYAMA-CHAYA is a family-run restaurant that opened in 1959.
We had an interview with the third-generation restaurant owner who thinks a connection with other people comes before anything else.

“Soba noodles are daily food.
Our restaurant offers soba noodles at reasonable prices, just as the previous owner did, so that our customers can have them casually every day, even in the vicinity of Jindaiji Temple as a tourist site.
On a nice day, you can feel the wind moving through trees and the sunlight filtering through leaves. Please have a relaxing time with us while eating soba noodles.”
