Noteworthy Athlete

2021 Tokyo Olympics women’s RS:X windsurfing representative “Yuki Sunaga” (affiliated with Mikihouse) is scheduled to participate!

Yuki Sunaga, a 42-year-old veteran windsurfer from Yokosuka, achieved a commendable 12th place in the women’s RS:X class at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, following her participation in the 2012 London Olympics.
She is a resident of Yokosuka and Tsukuihama Beach is her home turf.

Sunaga excels not only in the traditional “fin” category but is also among the top performers in the country in the “foil” category.
She secured 6th place in the women’s “foil” event at the 2019 Olympics, 19th place in the women’s “slalom” event at the 2022 Olympics, and achieved 6th place in the iQFOiL women’s event at the 51st Princess Sofia Cup in Mallorca, Spain in April this year.

Sunaga is now training to secure her third consecutive Olympic representation and continues to compete with the world’s top professionals, with up to 100 participants, at Tsukuihama Beach this year.
