Koedo Kurari

Koedo Kurari is a facility built by renovating old brewery buildings of Kagamiyama Brewery, which was founded in Kawagoe in 1875. It is a nationally registered Tangible Cultural Property.
Breweries built in the Meiji(1868-1912), Taisho(1912-1926), and Showa(1926–1989) periods are now repurposed respectively as a souvenir shop, a restaurant, and a sake tasting room.
The souvenir shop uses the brewery built in the mid-Meiji period. It has a cafe offering food and drinks and a store that sells snacks and handicrafts.
The restaurant uses the brewery built in the early-Taisho period, and it serves its original Japanese-style dishes using local produce.
The sake tasting room uses the brewery built in the early Showa period, which is a traditional storehouse-style building with a large, tiled roof and white walls. Visitors can taste and compare Japanese sake made at thirty-five breweries across Saitama prefecture here. There is also a space offering other fermented products, such as soy sauce and miso.
