NIPPONIA Tawaramot Maruto Shoyu

Maruto Shoyu, Nara's oldest shoyu (soy sauce) brewery, was founded in 1689 and has persisted in producing delicious shoyu (soy sauce) made with locally sourced raw materials and natural brewing methods.
This rich shoyu (soy sauce) was even used by the imperial family. After the war, it was closed due to food shortages but was reopened 70 years later in August 2020 as the first in to revive the slumbering brewery.
