Daigo Oyaki School

Daigo Oyaki School

Daigo Oyaki is made by kneading miso into flour and then grilling it using Japanese hearth ash called "Hodo."
In the past, it was called "Hodo-yaki."
Hodo-yaki was something farmers ate during their breaks and was also familiar as a snack for kids. Daigo-Oyaki is a modern reinterpretation of the Hodo-Yaki.
Daigo Oyaki School is a renovated building of a discontinued wooden school building.
This venue sells Oyaki and also offers Oyaki-making workshops.
A café that renovated a classroom is also here and offers nostalgic school lunches and sweets using local food ingredients.
A campground was established on the school grounds in 2023.
