Kue is known locally as the "king of fish".

Kue, which lives on the reefs off the coast of Wakayama Prefecture, can grow to over one metre in length and has been known locally as the "king of fish".
Now a major tourist attraction, it became famous in the mid-1960s when served as a local winter dish at inns and guest houses in Hidaka Town.
With an elegant white flesh and plenty of fat it is especially popular in autumn and winter.
