YAOKI, a soba shop with an alluring aroma of delicious sweets

Enjoying the flavors and quaint atmosphere of the long-standing soba shop, YAOKI

YAOKI is a long-standing soba shop, established over 60 years ago.
It is located a littles ways to the left after exiting Jindaiji Temple’s main gate.
You can have a meal while enjoying the pleasant view of the garden with a koi (carp) pond and a watermill. There are also outdoor tables where you can bring your pets.
The shop also sells pastries such as dango sticky rice cakes, soba manju, and kusa manju that you can take home or purchase as a gift.

YAOKI: Recommended soba menus

Rather than sticking to the same source, YAOKI selectively sources the best soba flour in Japan at the given time.
Each day, YAOKI makes soba noodles in ways that best suit the temperature and humidity of that day, pursuing noodles that have a satisfying texture as they pass down the throat.
The shop uses the same soup base recipe that it has used since the time of its establishment to make its signature, secret-recipe soup that is a little on the salty side.

○ Nameko-oroshi soba* 900 yen
Flavorful, spicy daikon radishes are sourced from select producers. The combination of flavors of the grated daikon with the soup results in a satisfying, mild finish.

*Nameko-oroshi soba is chilled soba noodles topped with grated daikon radish and nameko mushrooms.

○ Tenzaru soba* 1400 yen
Tenzaru soba consists of zarusoba with Japan-grown, in-season vegetables (eggplant, sweet green pepper, squash, green shiso leaves) from select sources and freshly-fried prawn.
The salty soup takes on mildness as you dip the tempura into it. Please enjoy this transition of flavor.

*Tenzaru soba is a dish that combines tempura seafood and vegetables with cold noodles.

Please enjoy the specialty, homemade sweets of YAOKI. They are delicious.

【A Message from YAOKI】
What sets apart the soba of Jindaiji YAOKI from others is the satisfying texture to the throat.
Please enjoy these noodles with our secret-recipe soup that richly complements the flavor of soba.

Our shop originated as a Japanese pastry shop.
While we make delicious soba, we are also proud of our sweets. (*The Kamenoko Honpo in Kokuryo, Chofu is a sister establishment.)
Our Japanese sweets are homemade and free of preservatives/additives.
If you take them home, please eat them as early as possible.
