Pole Star

This is a long-established condiment maker that is the creator of “Higashimurayama Kuroyaki Soba,” a local Higashimurayama gourmet specialty.
In addition to conducting factory tours and sauce-making experiences (reservations required for both), there is also a direct sales office where you can purchase various sauces such as new products and slightly unusual sauces, and an antenna shop where you can enjoy meals prepared with in-house products.
Established as the Sakurai Soy Sauce store in 1850 (Kaei 3), it moved from soy sauce fermentation to making condiments in 1977 (Showa 52), changed the company name to “Pole Star,” too, and has adopted a motto that its products will be made with particular attention to ingredients without using additives or coloring.
Higashimurayama Kuroyaki Soba Sauce, which is made based on squid ink and black sake, a Kagoshima specialty, is characterized by its richness, spiciness, and mellowness. Approximately 100 restaurants in the city have made arrangements with the company and it has now become a standard item on the menu in the area.
It is a local company beloved of the region, with many local residents visiting events such as the Gingko Festival held in December every year.
